Chat rules

Comply with instructions

The instructions of the moderators are to be complied with.

If you have any objections about decisions which have been made, they should not be discussed publically online. Instead, send a written objection by e-mail to the responsible Support representative.

Chat language

The Deepolis Chat is meant to be used by users as a source of entertainment and a means of communication.

There are many users in the chat, and this number is growing on a daily basis. That's why it's important to obey the rules, which make using the chat easier. Otherwise, at some point, nobody will be able to make any sense of the chat, and it will be more of a nuisance than a help.

English is the only language to be used for communicating in the chat.

These rules apply to the global map and not for the individual country maps.

Spam / Flooding

Spam and flooding of any kind are NOT allowed. Violations will result in a chat ban.

Insults

Insulting other users will not be tolerated in the chat. If somebody insults you, please report this to a chat moderator or an administrator.

Behavior / Respect

Even when things get heated in the chat or you get annoyed by something somebody said, you should keep your cool. Please remember to communicate in a respectful manner with each other at all times. Treat other players and moderators with the same amount of respect you would also like to receive.

Racist, sexist, political opinions and obscene language will result in a ban from the chat without warning. The decision is alone the responsibility of the chat moderators.

Advertising

Advertising for products, other homepages, etc. is strictly forbidden.

Contact info

The forwarding of contact information is not allowed in the chat.

This also includes ICQ, MSN, TeamSpeak IPs, telephone numbers, addresses, Skype, etc.

Slandering clans or companies

Slandering other clans also counts as a form of insult and therefore is not allowed.

Clan advertising

Advertising for a clan is not allowed in the chat, nor is it allowed to pressure someone to join a clan or make any kind of promises.

Capital letters

Writing in capital letters is not allowed in the chat. The only exception is for clan tags.

Nickname

If the chat operator offers you the chance to create your own nickname, make sure to select a nickname that won't insult other players or which has the specific intention of bothering other users, such as fake nicknames. Of course, racist names or names which glorify violence are also forbidden.

Stay anonymous

Your personal info doesn't belong in the chat. This is for the protection of your own privacy.

Report harassment

If you should be sexually harassed in the chat, please make a screenshot of the incident and jot down the nickname, time and date. You can also file a complaint with the police. With our help, the police can determine who harassed you and they can take action accordingly.

Say "NO"

Nobody can force you to talk about something which makes you feel uncomfortable. You don't have to answer anybody if you don't feel like it. If someone is hassling you, just report it to the moderators or the administrators.

Meet in person? Never alone!

Does someone from the game want to meet with you in person? Think it over carefully as to whether or not you really want to meet them, and talk it over with your friends and family. Choose a public place and make sure you've got a few good friends close by. Stay at the original meeting place – no matter what the other person may promise you. You never know who might be waiting for you elsewhere.

These rules are easy and clear enough for everybody to follow. So please obey them and make the chat a nicer place to be.
